The most intense and exciting freeride competition of the Benelux highlight the dates for 2017. One week, two countries, the best riders and the greatest battle between Belgium and the Netherlands. Poederbaas wants to set the standard for freeriding events within the Benelux, as the best skiers and snowboarders of the lowlands will compete against each other, themselves and the mountain. Who's in for the Poederbaas Freeride Festival 2017?!
Last year the Poederbaas Freeride Festival was organised in Val Thorens for the first time and resulted in an great performance of the Belgium riders. One of the main characters for the finals was the Belgium snowboarder Koen Goris. This guy created something which was never been seen before within the Poederbaas Freeride Competition and won the finals with an average of 96,5 points!
Within the ladies catgory Sanne de Jong was hungry for the victory and became 'Queen of the Festival' with an average score of 82,75 points. Just enought to win from Belgium talents Katrien Aerts and Kristien Maris.
Within the mens category Roderick Sillevis came down like an animal and won the competition with an average of 92 points from the rest of the competitors.
For the coming year we will continue with the Poederbaas Freeride Festival in Val Thorens from 11 till 18 march 2017. Mark this date in your calendar and be there for sure!
